How Much Space Is Needed On Either Side Of The Door Opening To Use These On a Closet? The space the folding door opens into will require the width of one door panel. For example, if you have a 32" doorway your door would be made of two 16" panels. You would need a clearance of 16" as it opens.
How Much Sound Does The Mechanism Make? Would It Wake a Sleeping Baby? Just like opening most doors, no noise at all! These doors glide nicely and quietly.
This is an excellent, well designed and fabricated product that well serves niche and unique requirements. However, it is priced at the highest end of similar products and is difficult to justify from a cost perspective. Additionally, the doors require machining that is not described well in any instructions and machining specifications must be extrapolated from the product itself. Routing jigs are available to rent from Milcasa, but for $150, putting the cost of just the hinging hardware at $600. In the end the hardware perfectly solved a unique requirement, but at a very high cost in both product and labor.

The original bifold doors on our laundry closet had to be removed because the consumed 4 inches on each side preventing the front-loading machines from opening completely.
A pair of these amazing hinges reveals the entire opening, giving full access to the appliances.

Recently installed our new Milcasa door. It turned out better than I had hoped. Our walls are a little uneven, so we purchased the custom made casing, as well. Our contractor was able to figure out the routing just from the pictures. The hardware was easy to adjust, and the finished project is clean; so much better than the old, flimsy louvered doors.

I had a space issue with my newly renovated bathroom. Full door would swing open and cover up the light switch, plus hide a big portion of my precious renovation. I solved all my problems by installing a 180 degree bi-fold door, but the hardware I used was not any hardware. I used Milcasa Compack Living hardware. This product is excellent - top of the line. I researched, and this hardware has proved to be very precise. It came shipped like an Apple iPhone! It completely controls the door - opening, and in the closed position. Sturdy & beautiful. You forget its a bi-fold. I spoke to the Company rep before purchasing with some questions and they answered everything. When I made a mistake in my order and confused my left from my right for the door opening Milcasa shipped me the correct one right away before receiving the return. This product is really engineered so well its simple. Product, company support and customer service outstanding.

My closet is very accessible and my hallway is not blocked by a normal bi-fold door protruding into the walkway. This was a perfect solution that solved two problems and I'm the only kid on my block to have hardware like this. Very cool.
